Here at Opera Prima, and our parent company García Carrión, we are deeply committed to sustainability and environmental stewardship, integrating eco-friendly practices throughout our production processes. Recognizing the importance of preserving the earth’s resources, we have implemented several key initiatives to reduce their environmental footprint.
Water conservation is a top priority in Spain, where water can be a scarce resource. That’s why we recycle 100% of our wastewater, and use it to irrigate surrounding agricultural areas, like our extensive orange groves. This practice saves two million liters of water daily, reducing the strain on local water supplies and supporting the health and productivity of the land.
At the Huelva plant, we have dedicated 250 hectares of the farm as a Nature Park, creating a sanctuary for the endangered bustard bird species. This area provides a safe habitat where these beautiful birds can thrive, reflecting the company’s broader commitment to biodiversity and ecosystem protection.
In addition to these initiatives, we continuously seek ways to improve energy efficiency and reduce waste across our operations. By prioritizing sustainable practices in both viticulture and production, we not only produce high-quality wines but also contribute to the long-term sustainability of the planet. It’s all part of our commitment to balancing tradition with innovation, ensuring our wines are crafted with respect for the environment and future generations.
